Goose Stuffed with Potatoes Recipe

It is an old Kuyavian custom to eat goose on St. Martin's Day. Below, you can read a traditional recipe for goose stuffed with potatoes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 goose (abouth 4 kg)
  • 1 kilo of potatoes
  • salt
  • marjoram
  • butter
  • water

PREPARATION

1. Wash the goose. Sprinkle the salt inside and outside of the goose. Rub it with some marjoram.

2. Peel the potatoes and add some marjoram and salt.

3. Put the potatoes into the goose and tie it up.

4. Roast for about 3 hours at 180oC. Pour some metled butter and sprinkle some water over the goose every hour.

5. The goose is ready when its skin is browned and the potatoes are tender.
